The FWG (Filipinos Working Group) in cooperation with the Philippine Embassy in Norway will hold a Beauty Pagent entitled "Bb. Kalayaan 2009" at the Philippine Independence celebration this coming 7th of June 2009 at the St. Hanshaugen Park. The selection process of the Pagent are as follows;

• Each organization can present one candidate to the Bb. Kalayaan 2009 Pageant.

Criteria

• Candidates must be in the age range 18-30 years old, and single. Divorcee or single mothers are not included.
• Candidates must present their Curriculum Vitae; and a photo layout of at least 2 photos, with a full body and facial photos.
• Must have a pleasing personality.
• Should present a talent of any kind, for example, singing, dancing, etc.
• For the interview portion, candidates are encouraged to brush up on general knowledge of Philippine history, particularly the background of the declaration of Philippine Independence; and also on current events.
• Candidates will wear Filipiniana (any variation of Philippine costumes) in formal version. There can be two sets of costumes, to change after lunch.
• We expect 16-20 candidates. If there are 20 candidates, there will be a selection of 10 finalists. With only 15 candidates, 5 finalists will be chosen. The winners will have the titles: Ms. Luzon, Ms. Visayas, Ms. Mindanao. Then the First Runner-up, and Bb. Kalayaan 2009.

The judges will chose:

• Bb. Kalayaan Most Photogenic 2009, based on the candidates’ submitted photos.
• Bb. Kalayaan Best in National Costume 2009
• Bb. Kalayaan Talent 2009

The pageant will include:

• Introduction of candidates, who will each have 2 minutes to make a small speech about themselves, and say something about their opinion of independence or freedom.
• Fashion Show of National Costumes
• Talent portion
• Interview Portion (Only for the finalists)

Judging Criteria:

(For all the candidates):

• 50% - Poise and Personality
• 25% - Talent
• 25% - Audience Impact

(For the Finalists):

• 30% - Poise and personality
• 25% - Talent
• 25% - Interview
• 20% - Audience Impact
